The Vampire Diaries Casts Smallville's Cassidy Freeman

Cassidy Freeman Cassidy Freeman is returning to The CW. The Smallville alum has booked a guest-spot on The Vampire Diaries, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Freeman, who portrayed sometimes villain Tess Mercer on the recently ended super series, will play Vampire Diaries' Sage, a character seen in 1920s flashbacks.
